As too people being let down, one's favorite author must be healthy and able to write more to maintain their prominence, the good fans know that. As too the iPad, from experience I bid you heed this warning, beware the mighty draw of the logo, do not get sucked into all things apple. Also the mighty draw of the pad itself. Tara has one and there are times she falls asleep with her finger on the K key filling in a complete crossword puzzle with Ks (none of her answers were right).

I had to break up with a comic store when I moved, it wasn't easy. But it you are only cutting down on your pull they will still have you as a customer which means you will still be there and, as when I have reduced my pull in the past, you will likely trade shop a little more.

    Loving regards,

    Beamish

Beamish, that's so lovely of you. Thank you! Seriously, dude.

I think you're right about the iPad/increased trade shopping. Also, it's very cool that there are so many freebies and affordable back issues available, so I can try stuff out and see if it's something I might like to add to my pull list - or buy in trade later.

Won't go into the LOW right now, but the HIGH was finishing "THE IRON WITCH" by K. Mahoney last night. A fun read with an interesting mythos being created here. Will seek out the rest of Donna's story soon. Well done, Ms. Mahoney.

Terry, I'm sorry about the Low, whatever it is. Sending you lots of good vibes.

And thanks so much for the kind words re. TIW. It makes me very happy to know you enjoyed it!

Just downloaded the next book in the series late last night. It's in the queue for this summer. Also left a short review on Amazon. NOTE: It was late so my sentences are clumsy but the sentiments are sincere.

The LOW is the death of my mother's husband. My father died a number of years ago and after five years alone, I helped mom find her high school sweetheart. They met and married. John was a really good guy and they were able to spent the next eight years together. After a very painful illness he died on Friday. Because of a complicated family dynamic, I am the only one who is assisting mom through this difficult time. We got through the initial planning for his memorial service to take place mid-July and are now organizing and doing all of the work necessary to give him a proper and honorable service. The LOW is becoming a bit more positive as I help mom make amends and do some important reconnecting to those who never stopped caring for her.

It is difficult, even as an older man, to look upon your parents as people with human flaws. But a lot of forgiveness is happening on all sides and I hope that this openness and love continues. That's probably more information than what is appropriate to post in such a venue but that's the Reader's Digest version of what's going on.

Love one another folks. And never stop telling those that have taken even part-time residence in your heart that they matter, are loved and welcomed to be there.

Terry, I'm very sorry for your family's loss. Thinking of your mother.

I'm glad there is something positive happening in terms of forgiveness/reconnection.

    Hugs,
    Kaz

Terry, brother, I am sorry to hear this. Please take my best your mother (and a little for yourself too), I know it's never easy but I'm glad that bridges are being mended so she can rebuild her support system.

    Much love,
    Jason

    EARLY W-I-P by Terry.Tyson

HIGH: Picked up brushes again and started goofing with art again. I probably shouldn't post this because I'm in the early steps of a planned larger work of at least 24 - 30 small canvases. They will be a series of miniature iconic images that will represent a personal lexicon of sorts.

None of these are near finished (well, the one on the right is getting close) and will include dimensional bits that I've made.

I am an artistic rube, but this project will hopefully jump start my dabblings again. It's been way too long and I've lost what little skills I had to begin with. I've not sketched in over a year and Lordy, it shows.

Despite all that, it feels good.

LOW: Juggling work, biz travel and family concerns. Playing in the studio has lessened the impact. Also, the care and warmth of others has been very therapeutic. Thanks, gang.

    Terry! Rad!

And also sorry. Those sorts of things do get complicated and are never easy, but it sounds like you're getting a lot of good out of a very sad thing.

Stupid busy, and I mistimed the amount of time I would need to finish a four page comic for my girlfriend's fashion class. She's happy with it, but I keep seeing things I could and should have done better.

    I MADE A COMIC:

Also, while you're there, check out my girlfriend's designs. Nothing's for sale yet (as this lot are needed for assessment etc), but she's keen to sell stuff soon.

    Also: Casanova: Avaritia #4!
In Australia, new comic day is Friday, due to shipping/customs etc. Being able to read this, for $2, at the same time as you guys was awesome.
