High: Local Con this weekend, printed up as cans of my comic which sold out, we announced the publisher on my GN , and did a couple interviews. It was a weird sort of coming out as a creator.

Low: Been following up with people who seemed enthusiastic, and while most has been awesome , one journalist told me "good luck" in regards to getting press on their site. Sigh. A little bit like being sucked back into reality .

Re. the thing about being tired all the time, you should get that checked out just in case. I did, and found out I was so anaemic I shouldn't be walking upright (appparently). But the Mahoneys are of tough Irish stock!

CONGRATS on the story publication - that's great news! I'm going to check it out, so thanks for the UK link.

High: Novel is coming along nicely and I'm doing very well at meeting my minimum word quota each day.

Low: Migraine has cost me at least two days' worth of work in the past week.

Congrats on making good progress on the novel!

I'm sorry to hear about the migraine(s). I totally understand how miserable they are - and how they can put a dent in your ability to work. Sounds like you're doing okay, despite being in Migraine Hell.

Did you know that the medical establishment borrowed the term "migraineur" from the French in order to refer to a person that suffers from migraine headaches? I did not. My doctor told me this last week when I finally folded and asked her for an official evaluation/diagnosis.
Have you ever been given prescription medication for them? (Or perhaps that isn't applicable, because they directly related to the accident?)
Regardless, I am sorry that you have been feeling so bad, Mr. Page.
I send you love and a cold compress.

    Re: High/Low

Low: Work meltdown resulted in Kaz meltdown, meaning I was too unwell to go to to New York/BEA. Seriously, totally and utterly bummed about the whole thing. Letting down a lot of people. Guilt. etc.

High: I saved a ton of money by NOT going on the trip, so I comforted myself with the very indulgent purchase of an iPad. It is the first Apple-anything I have ever owned. I love it so much! I am, right now, posting this comment using the Bendis Boards app. There is an ACTUAL APP for this place! Who knew?? So, yeah. I think I'll be reading a lot of my comics digitally now...

Low: which leads to another guilt-laden LOW because I'm not sure I have the guts to tell the lovely peeps at my LCS that I might be cutting down on my pull list.

High: Gotta end on a high... I love my iPad! I never treat myself to tech stuff like this (seriously, my dell laptop is over five years old and dying). I can even write it off against my taxes!

    Re: High/Low

    My dearest Kaz,

Sorry you didn't make it stateside, I know you were looking forward to it, there will be other times, twitter promises cannot be broken, they just cannot. As too people being let down, one's favorite author must be healthy and able to write more to maintain their prominence, the good fans know that. As too the iPad, from experience I bid you heed this warning, beware the mighty draw of the logo, do not get sucked into all things apple. Also the mighty draw of the pad itself. Tara has one and there are times she falls asleep with her finger on the K key filling in a complete crossword puzzle with Ks (none of her answers were right).

I had to break up with a comic store when I moved, it wasn't easy. But it you are only cutting down on your pull they will still have you as a customer which means you will still be there and, as when I have reduced my pull in the past, you will likely trade shop a little more.

    Loving regards,

    Beamish
