He may be dead. Not based on anything, but it is a very real possibility.Originally Posted by Fourthman

I'm not worried though, since my wife was recently laid off and we managed to do ok.
Of course, knock on wood, she could get laid off from her new job, or we have to find daycare for our daughter -- THEN I'd start worrying
As for what I did -- I was doing CAD/Civil Engineering, but I've been bouncing back and forth between CAD, IT/Tech Support for a while now. I may go into GIS, or back to something computer related at the hospital or something.
Then it's high time I say how much I love the hell out of this thread. You seriously need to look into making your own website for it though I have no idea of how the legalities for that would work. (Doesn't seem to stop many other people though.) Losing this thread would be about like losing one of my favorite TV shows.
Best of luck to you. I wish I knew someone in Charlotte that could help.
Sorry to hear it, CthI'm sure you'll find something soon.
The weird image threads have been great, thanks for all the ridiculousness I had to show my friends over the years.
sorry to hear that. those threads are a weekly highlight of the board that I was always looking forward to. hope you find a new job/occupation soon.
Spoiler:
I got laid off too. Right now, patience really is a virtue and anything you have you can fall back on is going to be a big resource. I had to go back to line cooking, but I was lucky to have a diverse background as it turns out (factory dude with a degree in mainframe programming :P). Anyways, I am a stranger who has liked you for years and is pulling for you. Take care man, and I have been ghosting around this board for two years because of this thread.
There is no rest for the wicked, even the especially wicked. . .
Cth, we should be grateful that you've been doing this for so long. I will miss this thread dearly, and I hope you know how much we appreciate the work you put into this. It really is one of the things I look forward to every Friday.
Good luck with the job hunt/schooling!
