Brooks is wasted on Carolla. I like Carolla but every time he tells Brooks, "I'm not really a reader" it makes me sigh. I still think it's a worthwhile interview but just... a mismatch. I think Brooks' management selected Carolla because of his numbers plus the connection with Kimmell. Brooks really needs to be on WTF and if you've been following Maron on twitter, it doesn't seem like Brooks is interested in being on Maron's show.

I hadn't heard of this! It's more been the lack of interesting guests that has kept me away from the regular podcast, but this might be something I could get into. Although, I've always figured a big problem with trying to re-create Loveline as a podcast would be that the lack of incidental listeners would preclude most of the best/dumbest callers. Has that been worked out, somehow? Or are the regular, intentional listeners just dumb enough on their own.

And now that I think of it, another big recent breaking point for me with Adam was actually in a recent episode he did with Drew, where he kept going on and on about how the government didn't give him everything he had in life (it sounded like he must have been set off by that doctored "you didn't build that" Obama quote and didn't know enough to know that it was doctored, but I wasn't enough of a regular listener at that point to know for sure). And the presence of Drew didn't do anything to fix that crap.
