This summer's Jonah Hex!
I want to see this because I really dug the source material and I was pleasantly surprised by the director/actor combos previous effort, Legion, but even though its only been out for a week, its already down to only two screenings per day, both late-night slots.
I much prefer daytime screenings whenever possible, much better chance of getting the screen all to yourself.
So it looks like I'll be waiting for BR/DVD.
I'm curious to see what people say because I can't stand the trailer and so far will basically only give this thing a chance if it gets glowing reviews.
Edit: Eighteen percent on Rotten Tomatoes? Yeah, best case this is probably a DVD rental for me. BUT I am curious to hear from those who like it, what it's got going for it. As mentioned above, it's associated with some of the people who brought us Legion, a film that was OK in my book but I regret spending the money to see it in theaters.
Legion pt 2: Electric Boogaloo?
I love how the second weekend of summer has become the spot for a studio to drop a shitburger "blockbuster." Robin Hood, Speed Racer, Poseidon, Troy. Looking back on Wikipedia, a lot of years there's not even a big release for this weekend...like studios just surrender to the first tentpole movie for a second weekend.
I'm just happy I won't have to see the fucking trailer anymore. Seriously, I feel like they attached that thing to EVERY MOVIE I'VE SEEN FOR THE LAST YEAR.
