Yeah, I think 12 episodes would have been much better, they compressed it too much. Granted, I'm a complete SoIF junkie so I can never really get enough.

Same. The compression is painful to the point that I'm often surprised so many non readers that I know IRL are not only watching, but enjoying the show.

Yeah, I got a guy I work with completely hooked on the television series, he loves it and I am like "There is so much more depth to the books"
So he started reading the books about 10 days ago, and is already on the third one. He is amazed, he had never really read any fantasy before, and loves them.
I passed on the curse!
The compression is a little painful, but I never would have imagined we'd get 10-hour adaptations of these books. I can't complain.
Book 3 will likely be two seasons, though.

That's what GRRM, and, I imagine, the producers are thinking. I wonder what HBO has to say, though. If they put their foot down and mandate one book/one season, then that's what we'll get.

I saw that too, I'm just being hopeful they rearrange things. At the very least 12-14 episodes would give it a little more room to breathe.
I suppose the budget could be increasedgiven it's success.
But the way they shot that battle last night (ie: they didn't)
leads me to believe money is tight.
