just copped all three cap by brubaker omnibuses. i breezed through the first one, now that finals are over. he paces this thing like such an old-school writer. there are segmented arcs, but the overarching story builds throughout years. i'm just starting the second one (and its price point is extravagant for such an emaciated book, and it reprints #25, which was included in the first omnibus), and they're still working off the story that commenced in #1.

i never thought i'd like a solo cap book. i love him in the context of the greater mu (same for tony), but as a solo character, he didn't hook me. bru changed that. epting's great. yeah.

so, is fantastic four by john byrne so good that it would outweigh his overly verbose, unnatural dialogue? the only ff i've ever really dug was waid's and millar's (haven't checked out hickman's yet), but i love bryne's art. i just find his dialogue grating. is it good?

I have never heard the term "leisure stress" before, but now that I hear it for the first time, it feels almost like it was invented purely for me.

I'm thinking we should start some sort of UK based charity for leisure-challenged hobbyists with grotesque amounts of disposable cash in comparison to much of the population

Just a few days ago I was complaining in another thread that my unread TPB/HC pile now numbers over 100 books (and that was earlier this week, before a few more arrived and before I ordered another four today).

Right now, the collecting part of the hobby is easier for me to find the time for than the actual reading/enjoying part.

A more unkind soul than me, would say that some people have got real problems Although that would ignore the plight of us over-privileged, no perspective, whiney wankers.

I just finished Hellboy Library Edition vol. 1 and it blew me away. Great great great book. Mignola's created something special.
