Help on John Ford & Katherine Hepburn

I was recently listening to John’s excellent interview with Jeff Parker and the subject of John Ford and Katherine Hepburn came up. My parents are huge fans and as their anniversary is coming up, I was wondering if any of the well-read fans here can suggest what the better John Ford ( my dad’s fav) and Katherine Hepburn movies ( mom’s fav) are out there on DVD.

I was looking for a Katherine Hepburn biography’s as well and there are so many to choose from it’s hard to find which is the more accurate read. Also if anyone knows of good documentaries on either ( Directed by John Ford is on my list), I would be grateful.

    Thanks everyone.

    The Searchers
The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance
    The Last Hurrah
    The Quiet Man

    Best Hepburn Films

    The Philadelphia Story
    The African Queen
virtually of the films she made with Spencer Tracy

Ford & Kate only made one film together, the 1936 Mary Of Scotland . It's not that good. Ford got so bored making it, he allowed Hepburn to direct the main love scene .

Re: Help on John Ford & Katherine Hepburn

I've always had a special place in my heart for Katherine Hepburn's film "Bringing up Baby" Screwball romantic comedy directed by Howard Hawks and also starring the great Cary Grant.
And a note about "Directed by John Ford" I love that film but don't expect to get much information from John Ford himself in it he is classically short with his answers. Including when the director asks him how he shot some of the great scenes in Monument Valley. His response was simply "With a camera." But there are plenty of other great interview in the documentary that are very informational and entertaining.
