I got an email this week; TokyoPop wants me to design the covers for two new manga series. It's mostly typography, designing the logo and choosing background colors and doing the production work, but the pay is pretty good for the amount of work involved, and since I'm doing volume 1 of each series, I will most likely get to do all the remaining books in each series.
Keep an eye peeled in a few months for the following two books:
Sakura's Finest. A story about a high school aged girl who goes to Tokyo to study at a martial arts academy in the 1920s. Basically cute girls with nasty swords. Some gory stuff, labeled "mature" for violence.
World's Greatest First Love. A yaoi book; the art director described it as a "kind of smutty romance."
These are books that have already been published in Japan, and now TokyoPop is doing the English-language versions.

'Grats! Sounds like you'll have an awesome time! Also not to deflate you at all but make sure Toto Pop pay you, they have sadly a bad reputation for skeevy contracts and paying their artists and creators less than they deserve. Just make sure they do right by you.
