I Am Thinking of Picking up a Tablet PC

I am thinking about picking up a tablet PC to read comics on. Can anyone recommend one as an alternative of the IPad?

    Wait

First quarter this year the 7" RIM Playbook (that would be Blackberry)
Come April/May, Motorola and LG will come out with their own Tablets based on Android 3.0 (the official Tablet version of Android)
and around that time iPad2 should be out

    So wait.
    (or just get the NookColor)

I am probably going to get the new (as yet unnamed Toshiba) that is upgradable with removable battery running Droid. But I was wondering if there was anything out now that was actually worthwhile to hold myself over. I figure I can pick one up now and give it to my daughter when the Toshiba comes out.

Yeah, it is looking that way. Guess I'll wait. Looks like the Slate comes out in the next month for $999. I might get that.

stay away from Toshiba running Android.

If you want Android on a tablet wait for the Motorola Xoom (on Verizon) or the LG G-slate (T-mobile) They are the official Android tablet .. the ONLY official android tablets.
all other Tablets, even the once from MAJOR maker like toshiba, Asus, Acer and Lenovo are 100% pure SHIT
They use a MOBILE operating system on a large device.

If its not Android 3.0 (aka Honeycomb) then stay away

At this point all other Android tablets are .. fuck it they are knockoffs

You could build a fairly good laptop for that. Not great, but able to handle low-end gaming.

The EEE Slate by Asus is a bit more powerful and runs Windows 7.

The Toshiba is running Droid Honeycomb.

I have a couple nice laptops. But recently I realized it would be nice to be able to sit outside on a break and read comics on a tablet. I have done this with my laptop, but at work when I am standing it is a bit of a pain. I am not sure if it is worth the money so I am pretty much just looking for opinions at this point. Not sure if I want one of the new dockable units running windows 7 or one of the new androids running Honeycomb.
