    Holy Crap! True Grit!

    What a MOVIE.

I go back and forth with the Coens, they make a movie I adore, then they make two awful ones, I lose my love for them every second film. I never cared for the Big Lebowski (have never finished it) but they have done many films I did love.

But this one, holy crap, it's just a huge ball of entertainment. I loved it. The acting is spectacular all the way through. I don't remember the original film adaptation that well, but this is just astounding, fun and literary at the same time, and good up until the very last scene.

    Who saw it?

I plan on seeing it soon. There's a ton of movies out that I need to find time to see.

I love the John Wayne version ( fully deserved his Oscar ) and I've seen the trailer for the remake.

    I'll give it a view.

I am amused that Jeff Bridges is appearing in True Grit and also guest-starring in Tron: Legacy during the same month.

    DUDE!

The Big Lewbowski isn't a favorite of mine. I can quote large swaths of "Raising Arizona" from memory, however, and I adored "Fargo" and a number of others. Not fond of Barton Fink or No Country for Old Men.
Phoenix Legacy is a wonderfully entertaining rollercoaster read that conjures up the fantastical worlds explored in comic books yet provides a romance between unconventional characters.--review of Phoenix Legacy at Night Owl Reviews.

Blasphemy! I know the pacing turned a LOT of people off, but I have SO much love for that movie. Javier Bardem is like the ultimate badass, even if he's never really fleshed out. And I can forgive him not being fleshed out, because I never felt he needed to be. Like Michael Myers or something, trying to make him human would only detract from the character, IMO.

Barton Fink is my favorite Coen movie... maybe one of my favorite movies ever.
