How large is the time skip between season 1 and 2? I thought Robin was 13 originally.

5 Years. Dick is presumably around 18 at this point.

Five years; Dick Grayson was 13 when the show started, so he's 18 now and has become Nightwing.

I'm going to say that I don't think we had Jason Todd, at least not as a Robin. It's not unprecedented to skip over him (Batman: The Animated Series went straight to Tim, even if they gave him Jason's backstory), and I think it'd be a bit too short time-wise (Time is always tricky, of course, but if we assume Dick didn't become Nightwing until he "grew up" then he's only been out of the Robin costume himself for one or two years, and I don't see that being long enough for Batman to have gained somebody new, lost him, and then gain another new one.). It could be that Jason was involved in some other capacity, but I think the "normal" story (Second Robin, killed by the Joker, back as Red Hood) is out.

Here's a new question: Have we gotten official confirmation of the civilin identities of Wonder Girl and Batgirl? It's obvious who they are (And Barbara has even already appeared in the show), but until it's actually official I'm never quite sure there won't be some twist.

Wonder Girl is confirmed as Cassie. Batgirl is a redhead I presume?

Yes. It's clearly Barbara (Like I said, she has even appeared in earlier episodes as herself), but (As we saw with Red Arrow) even being "so totally obvious" doesn't mean there aren't twists coming.

Jason could have happened. It makes Dick's "Try not to die" a bit more heavy. I wonder if it would be possible to mesh YJ's continuity into Under The Red Hood's. Nightwing's appearance and Voice might make it tricky but that's minor. Tim also complicates it to an extent but it could be said that UTRH took place before season two.

I *HATE* the 5 year jump.


Oh. . they almost won me back by appealing to the geek in me with the new character additions (Black Lightning in the league!, Bumblebee!, Mal!, Changeling, Wonder Girl, Tim Drake, Batgirl, Adam Strange, Lobo, Lagoon Boy, Blue Beetle, 3 Green Lanterns (Hal & Guy are mentioned by John Stewart), and a few others -- some in quick shots, some as major roles)

but bottom line?. . I didn't get to know the original cast NEAR as much as I wanted to.

and I want more stories about Aqualad. And more stories about Zatanna. And Arrowette. And how about a freaking focus on Rocket to explain who the hell she is and what her powers are exactly.



Too soon in the life of the cartoon for a 5 year leap forward in time, and I feel cheated out of the stories that could have been told with the season l team.

they actually did explain that -- but during a "casefiles" short shown during Green Lantern. (so that's how I knew he was gonna show up on YJ shortly after).
