I can't see the link from work, but I will say that I would think it's giving a portrayal of a teenager who wants to take an option that every teen who is an outsider and against the wall would take. I'm assuming it's showing him facing the same teen problems that most "different" kids have, but it also faces the fact for him that he can't take the easy way out because of who he is...it's like fate prevents him from doing so.
