Married... With Children had Peg actually cooking for the kids, though apparently as a housewife she wasn't the best.

Doug's son, on the other hand, truly has not been seen since the pilot (nor even mentioned, as far as I can recall).
Yeah, but it seemed like she was going to be a regular.

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

In Star Trek's second pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before", Some women wore pants. Never again.

Apparently there was a gay cook sharing the house in The Golden Girls pilot.

I think the second guy in walker texas ranger was behaving rather different in the pilot than the rest of the show.
the big bang theory has an unaired pilot with a completely different actress for penny. and only sheldon and leonard are present.

    Spoiler:

Wiki tells a different story. Original actor appeared too young for the role allowing the creators to convince network to use Dirk Benedict.

Four years later, Dirk gained further popularity as con-man Lieutenant Templeton "Face" Peck in 1980s action television series, The A-Team. He did not appear in the pilot film - creators Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo had wanted him from the beginning, but the network executives insisted that they wanted a different sort of actor in the role. Tim Dunigan won the part; but upon completion of the pilot, the executives decided that he wasn't quite right for the role, and it was given to Benedict.

The mother on the show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was re-cast from Vivian Banks to Daphne Reid.

And of course the recasting of Becky in Roseanne from Lecy Goranson (Season 1-5, and 8 ) to Sarah Chalke (Season 6, 7, and 9).

Janet Hubert played Vivian Banks for three seasons before Daphne Reid took the role. I think that's well past the pilot.

Just talking about changes in series, sorry, should have realized it was limited to pilot vs series.

The case of Chuck Cunningham from "Happy Days" is one of the most famous vanishing acts since D.B. Cooper. I noticed in Tom Bosley's obits, it mentioned him as the TV father of Richie and Joanie. Chuck, once again, got the shaft.
