I liked it.
And I really think it's about time that THIS is the final season.
Yes, I watch the show, shut up!
With that out of the way, what did everyone think of the premiere?
Spoilers:
I actually liked it, the plot was interesting and the glimpse of Darkseid we got was cool. I mean, he's actually Darkseid, they didn't make him into a 20-something guy like they did with Doomsday.
Although I thought old Luthor was kinda lame
I liked it.

Delirium: Have you ever spent days and days and days making up flavours of ice cream that no one's ever eaten before? Like chicken and telephone ice cream?.... Green mouse ice cream was the worst. I didn't like that at all.Mung Daal: We gotta get rid of this gum before Truffles sees it.
Shnitzel: Radda radda radda radda?
Mung Daal: No, we can't chuck him in the furnace.
The teaser at the end with Deadshot made me do a school girlish squee. But why the southern accent?
That was Deadshot? I thought that was just some random cowboy.
That pissed me off. Why is he a cowboy?
I liked how Clark had to confront the fact that he's an asshole. I guess he's going to be working on that this season. Also, that fake Lex was crap.
This episode made me laugh, which is the best I expect from Smallville anymore. Although, I will say that the montage at the end was surprisingly effective. This show has always done well when they could reduce things to a music video.
i'm watching smallville to finish off the thing, i remember watching the first episode![]()
anywho, smallville has been pretty bad for about 3 seasons. i realized the best parts of the show were lex and his dad, and pa kent. then clark. when it went into a super comic book sort of show, it went down hill, though this season might be good because they're sort of doing a "eh, fuck it" stance bringing in darkseid.
I've kind of given up on this show, though I watched the premiere to see Darkseid. I was happy to see, in the glimpse that we had, that the Big Guy seems to look a lot like he does in the comics. (Though I hope they don't end up going the Doomsday route, where I don't think we ever saw Doomsday clearly)
I'm also tired of Clark being such an ass. I'm happy the series seems to acknowledge this and is now pointed towards making him into the man who will be Superman. Maybe he can stop being a pathologial liar - it's kind of hard to see Superman in Clark when the character has spent most of the past nine years lying to everyone who loves him.
One question: why in God's name can't Clark fly? Every other Kryptonian flies - why is he stuck with doing a poor-man's Flash imitation? I know that in previous seasons, when Clark supposedly lost his human mind, he went flying all over the Earth, so his body is clearly capable of doing this. Is this supposed to be some kind of mental block? Is Clark subconsciously blocking himself from flying because he feels inadequate? I assume the series will end with Clark in the suit and flying off into the sky. Anyway, if the series has explained this, would someone share it with me?
I think, and I'm pretty sure this is official after the season premier, Clark is weighted down by his own assiness. All that guilt and self-righteousness keeps him grounded.
