I've seen it. Its certainly not his most compelling film, but has some interesting ideas and thoughts on how society acts.

I think it would've been better if Mamet directed as well.
I remember not liking it. Here's what I wrote when I watched it earlier this year:
This might be the worst thing I've seen from Mamet. The film looked and felt like a cheap Cinemax movie with some existential themes and b and c list celebrity cameos. Even Macy's performance felt off.

I thought it was strange because it started out being a bizarre comedy (or maybe that's just how I saw it) but then suddenly became a psychological thriller that seemed to make a vague point. Maybe it's vague to me because I haven't thought enough on it yet. I thought Macy's performance was great though.
I enjoyed watching the story progress, but I have no idea what it's supposed to say. Is Edmond happier confined, with fewer choices and options?
I just saw The Spanish Prisoner too. It was quite good but I just wish I'd seen it before House of Games because if you've seen that then it's pretty easy to guess what's going to happen next.
Of course if I'd seen The Spanish Prisoner first then House of Games would've been fairly predictable. Or maybe not. Either way, I found myself knowing what was going to happen next along every step of the way of The Spanish Prisoner. Still a good film though.
