So far Curse of the Mutants is impressing me a lot more than I expected it would. And while I typically can't stand Namor, I have grown to like his involvement with the X-Men so I decided to check it out. And I'm glad I did.
The story is pretty straight forward so far. Namor is on the hunt for an artifact that will hopefully help turn the tide of the war with the vampires, with some Atlantean warriors in tow. Not a huge amount happens, but what does is pretty impressive. Including Vampire Squid... Vampire. Squid. And though I usually can't stand Olivetti's art, he does a damn good job in this issue.
If the writing stays like this, and Moore plays down Namor's being an asshole that's determined to ruin any marriage he comes across, I think this series will be pretty damn good.
8/10
