    News from Jae Namkyoung

Hi folks, and especially friends of Jae-Jae!

As you know, she's plunged herself into the intensive work of Job Corps training, which includes unplugging her from the net for large periods of time. I "volunteered" (and if you know Jae, you know she's pretty much irresistable when she enthusiastically wants you to volunteer -- ) to be her contact point with at least some of her internet friends.

I had a call from her recently, and yes, she still talks a mile a minute or faster. It was just after Comic Con and she woke me from an evening nap and was talking so fast that my brain couldn't even process her self-identification for a bit. Heh. Then this weekend, I got snail mail from her as well -- much of it covering the same territory as her phone conversation, which is an indication of just how boring the non-class-time is for her. She really could use some diversions (oh, and snacks).

She has requested some reading materials, in particular the following:
    The Great Gatsby
    Cannery Row
    In the Time of butterflies
    Jame Eyre
    (plays)
    The Merchant of Venice
    The Glass Menagerie
    Death of a Salesman

And other books and reading material.

If you can, please snag one of these titles or something similar and pop it into snail mail to her. Heck, even WRITE (gasp) a snail mail letter and send it, I'm sure it would amuse her to get letters. Maybe concoct a serial story that she gets in installments. Remember she is almost entirely unplugged at present and so has nothing to surf for diversion.

Please remember that all mail is scanned (even searched, I think) and package accordingly. No illegal substances, please.

Here's her address (again, if you didn't copy it before in previous announcements):

    Jessica Gonzales
    Gary Job Corps Community
    RH 5 RM 211
    2800 Airport Hwy 21
    P.O. Box 967
    San Marcos, TX 78667

Send her bright colorful things, guys. Thanks.

Edit to add: She is doing WELL, by the way, and is considered the smartest in her classes. No surprise there. But there's only so much pool playing she can do, or walking in the Texas heat.

Hybrid - it should get to her okay with that, I think, as Nueces Hall IS RH 5 (meaning "Residence Hall 5").

The version I posted today is the "more correct" one. (Or at least, it's the order on her return address on her mail to me.) Hopefully your mailing won't go astray.

    And bless you!

    Hai Guys!

Wanted to update a bit, thanks Sarah! ^_^

I am in the computer labs this week working on my Work-Base Learning. So essentially this week the labs is my territory, my domain. No shock there, eh? Anyway, yes I am extremely bored and there is only so much pool, movies, and basketball one can do.

Did a personal run yesterday to Wal Mart, managed to snag a little canister for drinks (it keeps drinks cool too, yay for stainless steel).

I am getting to go home this weekend! W00T!

    Thanks Hybird!

Oh, good my mail did get to you Sarah, I'm never sure of these things.

I started writing again as well, a little bit here and there mostly on (yes) DC Comics. Oh and here's a list of my nicknames:

    Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)
    Gretchen (Recess)
The Professor (Kinda funny, considering I have a character called that).
Monkey (My Gym Partner is a Monkey)

I do sorely miss my real internet (because at the moment facebook and steam are no go for me here).

^_^ I will update here and there when I can, next week I start my trade and driver's education!

(Watch out world, I'm gonna learn how to drive!)

Hey Hybrid2, I did get your package, thanks for the snacks and I will read the book! Thank you Hellokittykat for the letter just got it today! I chat with Sarah at least (I try) once a week.

Playing Basketball and Billards, taking up Archery in the Fall, and Sarah can share more with you!

I am 30% done with trade!!! At the rate I'm going in two weeks I'll be 60% ^_^ Huzzah!

Also the selection for MCSE in New Jersey is extremely selective, so I'll have to start competeting for a spot soon, and even if I don't get it. I am so glad that I am doing this, my life will totally be different once I'm done. I haven't gotten around to call you, yet Bert, but I will and we can arrange a free weekend once I do.

^_^ I'm sad that I'm cut off from comics but I'll just have to buy trades once I'm done!

If you are looking to send a 'care' package to me, please ask Sarah Lucy Beach for the address, and she can share with you some items I could use! Otherwise, don't worry about it, (you can also look on my Amazon Wishlist, the link is posted on my FB, or you can search for lady_trekie (at) live (dot) com).

Thanks so much for the support, and if I have sent you a letter, it sure would be nice to get a letter back!

I sent you a package with some comics, Jae.
It should get to you by next week, I hope.

Jae, for what it's worth, your internet friends are very proud of you. Keep fighting the good fight.
