I'm in such a situation... Was wondering what the Simoneers had to say.

I would surmise as much. :\ I'm writing now and it's a doozy. My job requires me to go one hour trips Into another town. It'll be a headache when college starts since this job doesn't end till October.

I was up until 6:45 finishing a script, slept until 9:45, got up and dealt with a four year-old, then spent an hour and a half on the phone with a producer in LA about payment issues on something, followed by a round of email replies to general bullshit.

It's 3:45 and I'm completely lost for the day.

(edited to add that I'm not really bitching...but I am waiting for the lack of sleep to climb into my brain with its little hobnail boots and start kicking the shit out of my cerebral cortex)

When I first got married I worked nights and my wife worked days. We never saw each other. Perfect marriage.

I sound like a big bitch up there.

Truth is, I'd rather be broke and dealing with all of this stuff than spend an hour in one of the day jobs I left behind when I went full-time freelance.

in my experience, it generally takes a good 2-3 days of little to no sleep for that to happen.

Does drawing count? I don't work regular work hours and my sleeping patterns a bit weird. I usually start late in the morning after I've showered and had a snack and given my brain time to wake up and work until after 10pm at night. Any housework and cooking dinner is usually strewn through-out the day when I need to take a break.

I commute an hour each way to work, and lately I'm working 14-15 hours AT my job. .so it's making for long days.

i suffer without much sleep during the week and try to make up for it on the weekends (tho this past weekend, I worked quite a few hours as well).
