HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT! I got free tickets to see Neil Gaiman this Saturday!!!

    I just got this email:

    Hi Daniel,

Congratulations! You have won the double pass to see Neil Gaiman this Saturday at the Sydney Opera House at 8pm. Your ticket can be collected from the box office 1 hour before the performance is due to start.

If there are any issues whatsoever, please see the Kinokuniya staff at our booth.

GRAPHIC: Neil Gaiman - The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains
    Illustrations: Eddie Campbell
    Music: FourPlay String Quartet

Comic books, illustration, animation, music, multimedia and other new ways of telling stories have not only changed the face of our popular culture, they now define it. Graphic novels and comic art are now a leading source of inspiration for films, television, clothing, designers, musicians and artists the world over. GRAPHIC celebrates this brave new world in a weekend of specially commissioned productions – with musical responses to graphic art & stories, workshops, panels, a film festival, a games exhibition and an animation competition.

“Gaiman has a deft hand with the mythologies he tinkers with; even better, he's a fine, droll storyteller.”– NY Times

Neil Gaiman is one of the most celebrated writers of our times.

Having achieved legendary status with his Sandman comics, Neil’s stories have now crossed all boundaries, from comics to award winning novels, screenplays, scripts for numerous films, a forthcoming Dr Who episode and even audio theatre plays.

Numerous works by Neil have been turned into or optioned for major motion pictures, including Stardust and Coraline. Exciting future film projects in the works are Death: the High Cost of Living and The Graveyard Book.

We are pleased to present a world first; Neil Gaiman reading aloud the previously unreleased story "The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains”,in the spectacular surrounds of the Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House.

We have commissioned the renowned artist Eddie Campbell to illustrate the story, while FourPlay String Quartet have been commissioned to create an entirely new underscore to the story.

Eddie Campbell is probably best known for his collaboration & publishing of the graphic novel, From Hell with Alan Moore, which was turned into a major motion picture starring Johnny Depp.

Eddie Campbell’s other notable internationally released comics works include the irreverent and wine-soaked series Bacchus, which revives the Greek gods in a sprawling, unpredictable, and enormously entertaining thousand-page epic - and the award-winning autobiographical series Alec.

FourPlay shot to prominence in Australia and Europe in the very late 90’s as a unique musical phenomenon – an indie rock band that just happened to be a string quartet!

I wanted to, but have tickets for Florence and the Machine! And the movie screening the next day I wanted to hit is about an hour before a friends wedding, so I feel it may be in poor taste.

Yeah bad timing I gotta check out what else is going on at the Opera House. I think Kinokuniya are doing a 2 for 1 promo or half price tickets, I forget.

That is awesome...I am very happy for you! I had tickets to see Beowulf with him once, given to me by someone at Paramount.

I got too sleepy and canceled. I feel kind of a jerk for doing it.

But that is definitely a double holy shit moment!

ASK HIM IF HE LOVES ERIK LARSEN!

When women are drawn in by his charm and his british accent. According to Erik Larsen that's how he won his case with Todd Mcfarlene.
