Phoenix Legacy is a wonderfully entertaining rollercoaster read that conjures up the fantastical worlds explored in comic books yet provides a romance between unconventional characters.--review of Phoenix Legacy at Night Owl Reviews.
Teen Wolf.
Funnybook of the Week - I read 'em, I rank 'em. Based on nothing more than my personal enjoyment.
Twitter Feed - Just as inane as a blog, but shorter.
This might sound ridiculous, but DODGEBALL.
It has the classic formula of misfit underdogs fighting hard to get what they deserve. It's got a sport that's unique in terms of film and they do a great job explaining the rules and breaking the importance of play down (yes, that's important to me in terms of sports movies).
But the whole thing basically boils down to it being probably the most structurally tight movie in existence.
Seriously, every major moment is explained prior or foreshadowed appropriately, every little rule or turning point is espoused without it being too heavy-handed.
That, and the damn film is hilarious. I notice something new every time I watch it, with Stiller's crazy mannerisms and lines jumping out in particular.

The Natural, Bull Durham and Hoosiers are favorites too though.
The Replacements. I don't even like football, but that movie makes me laugh.

"Tell me that a fit fortyish woman with 25+ years of experience at sea and several decades of live bladefighting practice under her belt isn’t a threat when she runs across the deck toward you, and I’ll tell you something in return— you’re gonna die of stab wounds." - Scott Lynch
The Sandlot.
Hoosiers, the Natural, and I have a sick fondness for the Rocky movies.
I even like Cool Running.![]()
