Anthony Wiener is definitely one of the more entertaining politicians out there.
Until Shel, Corrina, or Gail say otherwise, let's assume this thread is like all the others in this forum by being moderated. So no personal attacks, name calling, yadda, yadda, yadda....
Now then, to begin things here.... THIS is awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O_GRkMZJn4

Seeing stuff like this makes me think that Congress should just became a boxing ring. It would be far more entertaining, and really they'd probably get just as much done as they are doing now.
Also--"the Republicans are wrapping around themselves and voting from their party and not their heart." Is that a little "pot calling the kettle black" to anyone else? I'm not saying that as a Republican sympathizer, I just think the Democrats are just as guilty of this.
Just as guilty? Not quite. Dems always have tried blocking things, but not usually at the expense of the public. Not bills like this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100730/...acks_health_10
The Republican party as a whole, especially in the Senate, has been 100% "no" most of the time. There have been some very rare instances where Republicans have voted with Democrats since January of '09, this bill being one of them where 12 Republicans voted for the bill (4 Dems voted no).

Yeah, I agree. Keep in mind - the reason this bill "Failed" was because the Democrats used a procedural measure to keep the Republicans from trying to add any amendments. That caused it to need a 2/3rds majority, and they couldn't get it. The independent (former Republican) mayor of NY called both sides out on it pretty harshly, although not with Wiener's flair.
Both sides screwed the pooch on this bill pretty badly. Sad.
