The book is getting some really positive reviews, too. I just don't know how I'll handle superheroes without the pictures.

When Lou sent me the advance draft for proofreading purposes, I ended up reading the entire anthology over two days. A terrific collection of short fiction but "Thug" really stood out as a story that was both clever and very touching. Well done.

And...oh, my...
Gail - I think this is the first thing I've ever read of yours (seeing as how I'm not a DC reader). This story just might encourage me to look into some of your other works. Thug was beautiful - touching, sad, funny... a very emotional story, without being a depressing story. I LOVED the writing style - loved the first person and how I could just hear his voice in my head. I literally could not put it down (and Joe knows from previous discussions how my ADD often has me bored with a book just a page or two in)...I just read and read and read, wanting to know what was happening on the next page. Good thing it was short, or I'd be going to bed at 6 am, instead of ...*looks at clock*...3 am.
Well, it was well-worth the read. Thanks so much for writing that story - it was lovely.
