Hi, I'm Colleen Doran. I haven't been back to the Bendis Board in years. But Gail tempted me!
Naughty Tempter!
I write and draw comic books, writer articles about creator rights, and do volunteer work as an advocate. I will be spending a few months in Washington DC this fall lobbying.
You can see my work in
Amazing Spider-Man 600,
Girl Comics #2,
Orbiter, past issues of
Wonder Woman,
Lucifer, and
Sandman, among others.
Currently, I am illustrating a graphic novel for Vertigo called
Gone to Amerikay, written by the outstanding write Derek McCulloch. This 140 page original GN will be out in 2012, and is a multi-generational epic of Irish immigration.
I am also working on a new GN with best-selling young adult novelist Barry Lyga for Houghton Mifflin. I will be finished with this by October.
On the back burner, but still in progress,
Stealth Tribes with Warren Ellis, another original GN. He was bogged down with other work, then I got bogged down, but my bogged-downing-ness will be over in October and I can get back to it.
I also write and draw
A Distant Soil for Image Comics, and you can read it for free at my website.
Many good wishes to Gail and all the Yabsters. Good luck on your new venture in your new home!
