Great start, going to work on keeping up with this time as it comes out so it looks like I got some reading to do!
You're going to love next issue.

Just finished the next issue ASM #649. The BIG TIME return of the Hobgoblin.

I read it in two sittings as my children don't let me ever get too far into a comic before they join me in the bathroom.

    And seriously, what just happened?!?!?

    Spoilers:
I sort of feel Kingsley was tossed away.

But in doing so he REALLY built up Phil Urich and has made him into a larger member of the supporting cast.

I wound up really liking this issue.

Hey Dan, I need a copy of the 1:100 J. Scott Campbell Variant of ASM #648...show me ya love me.

    I'm teasing.

    No I'm not

    I TOTALLY AM!

Dude, I can't hook *myself* up with a copy of that variant!

(Seriously, it's one of the 3 or so things that I've written/have-my-name-on and seen print in the States, that I don't own at least 1 copy. 1) An olllllld Disney trade paperback that reprinted some of my Aladdin stories. 2) The 2nd printing to the last issue of New Ways To Die.)

OK, that Marcos Martin cover is just awesome! Takes me back to both the Ditko days and the old cartoon.

    Ver'nice...ver'nice indeed!

I will own it and when I do I'll totally be, "NANNY NANNY BOO BOO!"

I've been considering tracking down all the 2nd printing variants on ASM, but question whether they count as owning the entire run of Amazing Spider-Man, which I do courtesy of my lovely bride, MY MARY JANE.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #650 - great issue, loved the quick thinking on Peter's part, of course if I had his body I'd only ever just wear underwear. I liked that while he's upgrading his Spidey costume, or rather "armory" he's not taking advantage of Horizon, but using it as a jumping on point to come up with ideas for them to use as shown at the conclusion of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #651.

I loved that Carlie came by with a snack, but so did my girl Mary Jane. I love your inclusion of the supporting cast in each issue to some degree. Keeps us up to date, shows us Peter interacting with them, so if you ever do a storyline with them the emotional impact will resonate greater. Black Cat's inclusion in the story is organic, it works, it's great to see her, she shouldn't have been forgotten for so many years as she has so much to offer.

And I'm digging your back-up stories about Smythe and Gargan that lead into the next storyline.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #652 - Revenge of the Spider Slayers has a great opening scene with Peter, his family and friends supporting Carlie in her Roller Derby match. I love Mary Jane being there, I love what she's thinking, I love that pretty soon there will be a comment here, a text there, and they will one day find themselves back together again. Carlie's cute, sorry she's going to get hurt, but Mary Jane is Peter's one and only. Boy won't Mephisto be mad.

Great back up story w/ The Looter.

Art by Caselli is top notch, keep that man happy.
