Zak Penn did PCU, X2, and The Grand. I don't immediatly discount him...

Zak Penn has story credit for X2, which most likely means his script or contributions got rewritten by someone else. I haven't seen PCU or the Grand, but they're both comedies so that's not particularly inspiring for the Avengers.

Joss is good for dialogue polishes so he gets the edge, but has a tendency to go overboard and get "cutesy"

The last thing I want to hear is Wasp making cutesy jokes about shopping for clothes at Walmart and the like.

I think that tendency gets overstated by his critics. Joss likes to have lighthearted scenes with snappy dialogue, but he doesn't put it in places it doesn't belong.

The Whedon haters are gonna turn it on strong after this.

I think its fantastic and will automatically make Hank Pym a likable character.

lighten up. He's not name dropping and shit. He's obviously not an insider, but just a regular guy who can travel to the future and back to review movies that aren't out yet.
