Still a bit sceptical to be honest, I dont see Joss Whedon stuff and think "Yeah, the thing he's best suited to is the Avengers".
I know this isn't exactly what you mean, but I at least trust him to properly balance the cast of the film, giving them all depth to their characters and their own time in the spotlight. He's shown he can do this much with the Scoobies and the Serenity crew.Originally Posted by NickT

i always feel like kaylee and book got a bit shafted in serenity, but on the whole i agree with you.
I think he'll do justice to the "team" of characters, I just worry about how he'll handle the fight sequences. And to be sucessful I'd say this film has to hit the 2.5 hour mark.

I don't know why Favreau didn't use Ferrell for Tony Stark, thought. Just picture it: "This suit is so damn hot! Steel was a bad choice."
So basically because people have been successes that you wouldn't think would be suitable before means that EVERY potentially unsuitable choice will work?
Did you watch Sin CIty and think this is the guy I want to do The Spirit? Did you watch Falling Down and think that is the guy for Batman?
Before Iron Man Favreau did Zathura, which was very much an effects-heavy actiony movie.
I think Whedon has the technical skills to make an Avengers movie. I just don't want him to dialogue it.
