I was gonna make a joke about how the Avengers started in 2008 and paid off in 2012, and you seem to have started on the Benbo in May 2008 and now four years later your username finally makes sense with this comment. But then I thought it was too unwieldy and too long for an "eh I guess so" punchline.

It's also interesting because not too long ago, a lot of people had issues with casting Ms. Johansson in the role.

I'm very happy that she lived up to and exceeded my expectations and really brought one of my favorite female characters to life in a big way in this movie.

I definitely had a problem with her casting. I've seen her appear in at least 6 other movies (including IM2) and Avengers was the first time that I've seen her act.

And also, this too. I think it's not an issue because the side that would take this so deeply (the Christian camp) have a stalwart hero to reconfirm their beliefs, and because non-Christians hopefully see that it would be natural for an apple pie guy from the 40s to be a Christian.

Yeah, I'm an atheist liberal and I have no problem with it. In fact, I wouldn't mind if he devolved into Ultimate Cap and talked some xenophobic bullshit.

The guy in the article seems to think The Avengers as a whole affirms the one true god thing, and I think he was completely missing the point. Funny stuff though. The comment section shows all the dum dums.

Dude is trying to pull stuff out of his butt when the butt is closed off.

Cap is old-fashioned and has a moral sense from a different time period, not to mention he's already in a fish out of water situation there, so of course he would react that way.

The movie also includes a futurist that is at the very least pragmatic about there being the existence of a supreme being, and whatever Banner would happen to believe as well (probably some kind of Buddhism/Zen to keep himself "calm"). Who knows about the Secret Agents.

Ah well.
