The helmet looks fine from the side; it's in the front view that the lack of visible ears makes it look weird.

The mark ii edit has been posted online as well... there's some neat edits, like going directly from iron man 1's ending to ivan watching it unfold on tv in iron man 2 via zooming out.
I've kind of warmed up to Cap's helmet. Sure, it's a little dorky, but I always thought Cap looked a little dorky in the comic books too. I think the characters I'm most excited to see in action in this movie are actually Hulk and Hawkeye, oddly enough. I just want to see the Hulk rage out against the alien threat, and then Hawkeye because we haven't seen him in action in a film yet (and I'm not even really a fan of the character, but do like Jeremy Renner).
