I love the newsreel-style recaps at the beginning of episodes.

Re: Avatar The Last Airbender Spinoff: The Legend of Korra

Well, my hunch on Sato Corp. panned out. I dunno if I trust Asami, though. She still makes my spidey sense tingle. Never trust a pretty face? This felt a little too cut and dry...even though her exchange with her father seemed pretty authentic. Gotta say this is the most emotion I've seen Asamibot showcase all season...hmm. We'll see...jury is still out for me.

Heh. "Do you think your father knows about this tunnel?" Bolin continues to be MVP...and, just for added emphasis, he belly flops onto the cop. Seeing Tenzin finally flex some muscle was a cool development, as he's been pretty impotent.

I want to be a metal bending cop when I grow up...so many awesome gadgets, sealed with the retractable blades in the cuffs. Why exactly did Tenzin drop Lin again? Me thinks he can't handle alla that, personally. I'm beginning to think they should just change the title of the show to Legend of Lin, because Lin is stealing all of Korra's thunder. But, she's young.

I have to believe there's some deep rooted government conspiracy going on. This doesn't just extend to big business. Obviously Tarrlok is involved somehow, but, I still struggle to try and find how anti-bending sentiment benefits him. Regardless, Sato was about to spring a trap on Lin, Tenzin, and Korra -- arguably the 3 most important people in Republic City. You can't just get the green light to do something that bold unless you have some important people willing to cover your tracks.

Why would Asami fake betraying her father? She genuinely didn't know what he was up to, and I somehow doubt a plan would be so complicated they'd draw in the top leaders of Republic City and let them fake escape. That would just make no sense.

As for Tarlok, the way I see it, he could be in cahoots with Amon. Probably as a way to bump off Lin and increase his own power, and then look like a hero taking out Amon. It'd explain now be randomly found out about the chi blocker training camp. I mean with the stuff that Lin and the Metalbender cops found, that had the explanation of being bait.

Tarlok just stumbling on an Equalist training ground makes zero sense on it's own.

You were the same one saying I was wrong about Sato last week.

Granted, Asami helped her cause this week, so she's not on my radar as much. We still have more to go...Sato was taken off the playing field, and he was probably Amon's biggest backer. Maybe the conspiracy hasn't ended yet and Sato's arrest is another piece is an ongoing process. Springing that trap on Korra and company was pretty damn bold...unless there's more cards up Sato's sleeve.

    Spoiler:
Because there wasn't any true non-circumstantial evidence to suggest it or that he had importance to the main plot at the moment. Once they showed Sato at the police station in a clip, that's when it all fell together.

This just doesn't fit together. If Asami was an Equalist she'd have let everyone but Korra go. The only one Amon needs running around is her so he can have a final battle with her, he said as much in a prior episode. Tenzin and Lin would just be more problematic running around free.

Re: Avatar The Last Airbender Spinoff: The Legend of Korra

Conspiracy theories are my hobby. Maybe this was all a ploy to place Asami within the Air Temple on top of solidifying Korra's trust. Sato's phone call wasn't planned, and, maybe after he found out Korra was onto him, the Equalists decided Korra was one hound who wasn't going to give up on the scent. So, confirm to her that Sato is indeed shady, spring a failed trap, and allow Korra, Lin, and Tenzin to believe that they just dealt a crushing blow to the Equalists while making Asami golden in their eyes in the process.

    Spoiler:
She wouldn't have found out about their secret factory if they hadn't given it up in the first place. Korra was about ready to call it quite when it'd looked like she was completely wrong. Seems like you wouldn't wanna give up your arms factory, even if it was just to sneak someone onto Air Temple Island. There'd be no purpose to get on there if they already had Tenzin and Korra in their hands.

I don't think Sato knew about Amon's plan to save Korra for last, otherwise he wouldn't have lured her there. Seems more like it was arrogance rather than a grand stroke of master planning.

Korra, IMO, isn't someone who would've given up on the Sato hunch. She was dejected, yes, but mostly because she felt alone on the ledge when they couldn't get anything on Sato. I doubt she would've stopped. An easy way to do damage control is give Korra what she wants. Korra stops putting on the pressure, and Amon can go about his business as usual. Amon wants Korra. He already talked about his end game, and I'm positive Sato was aware...it's natural to assume Sato held an important place in Amon's circle as the money guy. I think a legitimate trap against the biggest figures in Republic City by the biggest industrialist in Republic City was a little rushed. I can't really shake the idea that Amon is just toying with Korra some more. His plan has got to be systemic. It isn't just about force. If it was, he'd just take the City now.

The action in Legend of Korra continues to astound. The fight scenes are as breathtaking as any movie I've seen lately outside of Avengers. This is the first we've really seen Tenzin cut loose and it was awesome.

Also, Bolin continues to be great.

    I love this show.
