Interesting Local Artist (not comics related)

In a local gallery, I found paintings by a Frederick, Maryland artist named Doug Moulden. His paintings immediately struck me. They are done on big peices of plywood as a canvas...some of them are curved instead of flat. Instead of actually painting, he extrudes the paint onto the plywood. His work is so tactile...you just want to go up and touch it! Here's some pics...

The pictures don't really do the paintings justice, tho.

I guess I just like artists with the initials "DM"!
