Harry's memories?

Okay, Harry remembers he was the Green Goblin and that he kidnapped MJ, yet he doesn't remember Peter was Spider-Man.

What are his memories like? The whole reason why he became the GG and went after Pete and MJ is because he knew Pete was Spider-Man. Does he know why he went after them?

I'd also just like to add that I think it was a big mistake for Norman to have been behind Harry's resurrection, making it so Norman knew his son was alive all along. It invalidates all the stories where part of Norman's motivations and his anger towards Peter were due to Harry's death. I think it would have been a lot more effective if Norman had nothing to do with Harry's death being faked, and we got to see his reaction when he discovered his son was alive and well. It could have given him a couple more shades of humanity and made their relationship more complex.

I'm only going to deal with the first part of this.

As I understand it, the spell (or whatever it is) just connects the dots in the wrong way. Maybe Harry remembers going after MJ because Peter and Spider-man were close and Peter wasn't around (because he was busy being Spider-man).

I would imagine that Peter and Spider-man's perceived closeness is enough to make most stories work. Besides, as Mr. Slott says, a true fan finds a way to make continuity work, not to break it.

Then again, maybe they should have thought of that when they decided to remove the marriage from existence...

I don't know. I remain of two minds on the subject.

Ok, this is my first post here, but I've read comics for 25+ yrs so let me take a shot. Harry doesn't remember because of the psychic shield thingy. At least that's what I'm betting they're going with. Harry may think he just snapped during that time.

As for Norman being upset and wanting to kill Pete even though he knew Harry was alive, what about the simple fact Norman is a raving, stark-mad lunatic. I think its been pretty clear in Dark Avengers that Norman is an order of french fries short of a happy meal. I don't think Norman has much humanity left. He takes advantage of what ever he can to further his cause. Plus he knows it torments Pete that Harry was "dead" and wanted to rub it in even further. Bottom line, anything Norman can do to get a mental leg up on his opponet, he'll do.

While it's never been put into stone, I always got the feeling that the formula drove Osborne crazier and crazier over time. It was something written in one of the Hobgoblin issues that made me think that, don't ask me which one, I have no idea off the top of my head. I don't think the Norman we have today is the same Harry we had until issue 122. I'm not saying its someone else, I'm just saying he's not right. I mean he should be dead. Real dead. If the formula brought him back, who's to say it brought him back in the right frame of mind. Has that been said in the story? No. I think its one of those things that has to be assumed off panel. Mind you this is all my opinion and I have no idea if that's the thought with the writers or not. I have heard some even suggest on other boards that this Norman is actually a clone and the reason he's acting half mad is because he is degenerating.
