The Official "Get to know your fellow Benboer" Thread!!
I just had a thought. A lot of people here go to cons. After the cons, they meet-up in bars and have a great time, getting to know each other. Becoming friends. You know, the usual social scene.
But that doesn't really account for those of us that don't really get to go to cons, don't really get to go to some of the awesome drink-up/meet-ups. Because of various financial reasons, responsibilities that we can't shirk like family, jobs, etc.
Like I said earlier, I had a thought. What if there was a place on the board that everyone could post a little bit about themselves in. Their likes, dislikes, what they do, what they WANT to do, and so on and so fourth.
Just getting to know a little more about all the people behind the usernames and avatars.
So, why not let this be the place? I'll go first in the next post, hope everybody participates!

A thing few people don't know about me is that I get insanely wet from seeing car crashes.
Well, as everybody who can read knows, my name really is Ryan Elliott. The A stands for Allen. I have the same initials as my dad, whose name is Randy Allen Elliott.
I was born on September, 11th 1988 in Miami, Florida. My mom originally wanted to name be Dalton(like in Roadhouse) James Elliott.
I spent about a year or so, after being born, in Florida before my dad's job required us to move and so we moved to just outside Washington DC. While I was there I had three best friends. Michael Morris, Michael Jewel, and Chad(his last name escapes me). I distinctly remember all four of us wanting to start a school-based detective agency.
I played T-Ball, and then later a little bit of little league. One time during a game my helmet, which was too big for me, slid down over my eyes just as the ball was pitched to me, I swung, and I got a GREAT hit out of luck. Made it to second base!
I spent about 6 years there, before having to move again. My little sister had just been born, and we moved to Memphis, TN. During the WORST icestorm memphis had ever seen.
And Memphis is where I pretty much grew into a teenager and the person I am now. When we got here, we lived in an apartment, the concrete stairs of which I fell down. I was counting them and halfway down I fell down them. There were sixteen steps by the way.
Middle school is kind of a blur, so is almost everything before that.
High School, I played football my freshmen year, just to please dad. Got out of that, it wasn't for me at all. Got heavily involved in my drama class which was my FAVORITE class out of all of the classes I had in high school. Just a fun time every single day with great people.
Now that the mini biography is out of the way, I'll start on the little tidbits about me. Come on people! Jump in any time! I don't want this thread all about me!
Little Tidbits/Facts about me:
1. I loooooove Batman! (uh-duuuuuh)
2. I love stand-up comedy(and am thinking about doing a little stand up act on the weekends)
2.5 My favorite comedian of all time, and the one that drew my attention to stand up comedy, is George Carlin. My favorite working comedian is Patton Oswalt.
3. I'm 6 feet tall, and currently weigh 300 pounds. Most of it in my gorilla gut.
4. I love movies and love going to see movies in the theater.
4.5 I like sitting closer to the screen instead of super far back. And I always get popcorn, a drink, and some candy.
5. My favorite things when I was a kid were dinosaurs, power rangers, TMNT, and Batman.
6. I used to stutter when I was a kid. Really bad. Until I saw a speech therapist. And after a week, it almost 100% went away.
7. I love to laugh. It's one of the best feelings in the world.
8. I'm honest. And I "speak from my heart."
9. I'm a very romantic person, at least from what I'm told.
10. I love with all I have and am. Which usually leads to even more painful heartache.
11. My favorite kind of music is classical and metal. All different kinds of metal as well.
11.5 The only albums I listen to completely are classical albums. Other than that it's mostly just different songs here and there.
12. I am VERY picky about what I read, listen to, eat, etc. Like almost to annoyance.
13. I'm currently going to school and majoring in Graphic Design.
13.5 I love thinking about things. Having ideas, adding and subtracting to them. And now I have a way to make them come to life.
14. Photoshop is awesome.
15. I feel like I want to live in Alaska.
