I always thought it was "a bad case of lovin' poo."
But then, there's GOT to be a pill for that.
"Doctor, doctor give me the news
I've got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I've got a bad case of lovin' you"
-"Bad Case of Lovin' You", Robert Palmer
1- Why does he want the news? Sounds like he successfully self-diagnosed himself. I guess maybe he wants a second opinion.
2-Since he's obviously addressing his doctor in the first line, does that mean that the "you" in the second line is also addressing his doctor, and therefore, is he in love with his doctor?

Spoiler:
One I heard the other week. In the song Love Shack it begins "If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says 15 miles to the... Love Shack!", but never actually tells you what you should do if you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says 15 miles to the Love Shack.
What exactly is the "pompatus of love"?
