Last time a goblin snapped Gwen's neck, hopefully Phil can switch things up and impale Watson with a flaming sword.
I get this all the time. They say, "You really hate Daredevil. Look how mean you are to Daredevil." I'm like, "Would you really buy a book about him enjoying a sandwich? 'What a great sandwich. I'm going to eat this for 22 pages, and I'm going to be so happy.'" I may do it just to prove a point. Have Wolverine going, "This is the best bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich I've ever had in my life!"

Sounds like it might involve the hobgoblin, whatever it is.

What better way to cement him as one of Spidey's memorable big bads than have him do something really memorable on 700?

And Phil has been a pretty shabby hobgoblin so far.

Kingsley was a mastermind and dangerous enough to be Norman Osborn's equal. Phil just comes across as random over emotional boyish lunatic in a goblin suit. He's going to have to really step up his game and do something big if he doesn't want to come across as another failed replacement like Menace.

Pretty much everybody else is going to be out of the game by the time 700 gets here. Doc Ock, Electro, Rhino, Osborn, Sandman, Venom (hero for now), Carnage (relegated to Zeb Wells mini status for the near future), Chameleon, Mysterio, etc.

None of the big guns seem like they're going to be available.

I wish I could pre-pay for trades of this book and get one-time reads of the singles as they're released in return.

I just want a couple of things out of 700...

No unmaskings on a world wide scale...

No Peter losing body parts and becoming the Cyber-Spider...

No Peter dying and being replaced by a new Spider-Man...

    No Peter dying period...

Or turn him into a woman.....

No mind/body switching either. That shit hurts my head especially with characters like Psylocke.

It these things do not happen, I will be happy.

If they do happen in some fashion...

How long before they ressurect/turn him back to normal in the 616?

Then again they could just reboot...

In all honesty? That Revenge of the Sinister Six arc by Erik Larsen will always hold a special place in my fanboy heart. And someday if I can find it cheap I would like to own the action figure of Spider-Man wearing that eye patch and cybernetic arm cast. It's a cool look.

But nah I don't want Spidey to lose body parts for real man. After seeing Morlun eat his eye...I don't want to see that again you dig?
