The All Things HULK Thread (Red, Green, Skaar, She-Hulk, etc)

A few things to start off with..

First, issue 600's new status quo may have been spoiled by Amazon..

    Spoiler:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hulk-No-More...6600142&sr=8-1

Hulk Volume 3: Hulk No More Premiere HC (Hardcover)

Guess what Emmy-nominated, Eisner Award-winning Jeph Loeb and superstar fan fave Ed McGuinness have in store for you?! There was a time when the world's mightiest heroes got together to fight foes too great for them to handle all by themselves. No! Not the Avengers! The other guys: HULK! NAMOR! SILVER SURFER! DOC STRANGE! The original Defenders are back! But what terrible threat could bring them together again? How about THE OFFENDERS! RULK! TIGER SHARK! TERRAX! BARON MORDO! Collects Hulk #10-13, and Incredible Hulk #600.
Then there's the Quesada's Cup of Joe / Hulk Summit:

    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=21788

Kiel Phegley: His follow up is, "The covers for ‘Son of Hulk’ #13 and ‘Son of Hulk’ #15 imply that Hiro-Kala is also the Son of Hulk. This would make sense because Queen Caiera told Hiro-Kala that when she died she didn't just save Skaar's life. Is Hiro-Kala the twin of Skaar?"

Joe Quesada: I'm glad readers are asking questions about this stuff. This is exactly what we'd hoped would happen. Of course, I can't answer that question just yet. Sorry, Hulk1992, no such luck on this one. You've got to read the book to see if there's any type of blood relationship there or if it's something different all together. And it's funny that we're getting this question right now because I just walked out of a mini Hulk Summit we had. A bunch of guys just flew into town to create the next year's worth of publishing on a Hulk family of books. It was pretty intense. I think if you're a Hulk fan right now, in the next 12 to 24 months you're going to be in Hulk heaven. It's a revolution in the universe of the Hulk. We're creating a Hulk family of books and a Hulk universe – a lot of stuff hinging around Red Hulk, Green Hulk, Skaar and some very interesting, interesting surprises. So glad you're asking the question...can't give you the answer.

Ooooh, but wait, a couple of days ago I posted a doodle I did during the Hulk summit, you may find some clues there.

    THE DOODLE:
    Spoiler:

    SPECULATIONS:
    Spoiler:

    ASK PAK ABOUT ____ ___

There's only a few letters it can be -- B, P, or R.. D is too wide.. it loops tighter. The last letter of the first word looks like it could be Y.. so I'm guessing BETTY ROSS.

    RULK KILLS _______

Compared to the other words, it's a 4 or 5 letter name. What's weird is it looks like another name was there and was erased. The same thing occurs on the upper left.

    UPPER LEFT

It looks like a R to me based on the other instances of R in the drawing. Could it be Rick/Return?
Next up, there's the DARK REIGN TIE-IN:

    http://marvel.com/news/comicstories....olon~_Greg_Pak

Marvel.com: Does Norman have a game plan for battling the Hulk? It's safe to assume going head-on is a bad strategy.

Greg Pak: Norman's pulling in a ringer who has a history with the Hulk and a unique skill set for getting inside the big green's head. And no, it isn't Doc Samson. Norman's ally is considerably prettier, for one.

    THE SOLICIT:
    Spoiler:

    http://www.newsarama.com/comics/0906...list-hulk.html

Dark Reign: The List - Hulk
    Written by: Greg Pak
    Drawn by: Ben Oliver

The world has never shown much love for the Hulk, but his stock has only fallen in the dark days since World War Hulk. Though Hulk has lost the savage intelligence that made him such an unstoppable opponent, he still represents a clear and present danger to Osborn's regime.

But Hulk isn't the only gamma-powered monster on the loose. The brutal Red Hulk continues to follow his own mysterious agenda. And recently, Hulk's son Skaar crash-landed on this planet. Skaar has already had a first-hand taste of Osborn's wrath. Writer Greg Pak indicates that The List: Hulk will focus "on the two with the greener hue", suggesting that Red Hulk is sitting this one out.

But Osborn has been content to leave Hulk alone up till now. What changes? Pak says, "I'll tip my hand just a bit and reveal that on page one, Norman messes with a key friend of the Hulk. And on page three, Banner picks a fight. And everything explodes in every direction from that point on."

Another fair question is just how Osborn expects to take down the Jade Giant, especially considering how tall an order that was for Tony Stark's Initiative to fill. Pak hints, "He's going to send an unlikely ally into the thick of the fight who's survived a gamma-powered assault in the past -- and who might just have the perfect innate qualities needed to take out the Hulk in the present."

Much like The List: Daredevil, this one-shot fits neatly between two issues of Pak's Hulk run. "The issue fits right into the chronology between Incredible Hulk #601 and #602. It's actually a great entry point for anyone interested in seeing just what's up with the Incredible Hulk book. Incredible Hercules won't be directly affected by this particular story (but since you mentioned it, you definitely won't want to miss Incredible Hercules #136, which ships the same month and features the biggest guest star the book has ever seen!)".

Pak also teases, "I'll just say that this ain't your typical meet 'n' fight 'n' part ways between superhero powerhouses. There will be a definite win at the end of this issue, with genuine repercussions for these characters in the future."

    ----

IGN Comics: Is this the culmination of everything Dark Reign has been building towards? Will the Dark Reign story direction continue past this point?

Brevoort: Dark Reign: The List does function as the final act in the broader Dark Reign saga, but it's also the bridge that gets the Marvel Universe into position for what immediately follows. And just to hint a little further: it'll involve the Cabal in a big way.

    ----

NRAMA: Probably should've been asked earlier, but what Hulk will we be seeing in this one shot?

GP: You'll see a lot of green. And you'll see the smartest of all of Banner's incarnations.

    ----

While each side of the story's equation remains pretty mentally unstable in general, what drives the clash between the Green Goblin and the Green Goliath is Osborn's hopes to use gamma-irradiated heroes for his own ends. "The idea of a Hulk in your back pocket must be kind of attractive," said Pak, noting more than just Bruce Banner's alter ego will pop up in the pages. "Three strong women play huge roles in this book. Keep your eyes open for someone incredibly close to Banner, someone incredibly close to Norman, and the wildest of the wild cards who might just have the ability to get under the Hulk's skin like no one else."

    SPECULATION:
    Spoiler:

    Osborn messes with:

    - Kate Waynesboro / Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk)

Which causes Banner to mess with Moonstone.

Which causes Osborn to send in:

    - Lyra (new She-Hulk) or Mercy (old Hulk foe)

Of course the tidbit about "perfect innate qualities needed to take out the Hulk" it could mean Sentry. After all, it was the dumb Hulk who was affected by Sentry. And then there's this tidbit "He's going to send an unlikely ally into the thick of the fight who's survived a gamma-powered assault in the past/I'll just say that this ain't your typical meet 'n' fight 'n' part ways between superhero powerhouses. There will be a definite win at the end of this issue, with genuine repercussions for these characters in the future."

Which suggests a rematch, where Hulk loses.

Also, there's been a Savage Banner incarnation, maybe we're getting a new incarnation of Banner as suggested by the cover of Hulk 601.

Banner suddenly finding out he has all these kids, and one of them working for Osborn could get under his skin. After all, they are trying to expand things into a Hulk Family Universe.

Also, as an aside, Hulk refers to Skaar as "Little Monster" the same name that Banner's dad called him. There's speculation that Banner is subconsciously trying to keep the Green Scar incarnation at bay because he's the one who's most capable of acting that stuff out. The Green Hulk is too dumb, the Gray Hulk is too weak.

Nope, supposedly getting a big clue in Hulk 600 in a week or two provided there's no more delays.

Seems like a lot of stuff to cover in 600.

If Rulk isn't actually revealed in Hulk #600, I think I'm done.

The franchise has a lot of potential, but if they're going to keep jerking us around, I think I might just buy the Pak Hulk if I'm really impressed with the first issue.

I can't wait until Loeb finally leaves this franchise and I can go back to reading about my favorite Marvel character.

I think you're done then. They've said that it won't be revealed until near the end of Loeb's run, which they've also said it around 20.

Really? He's only on till 20? That's a shorter run than I expected.

Re: The All Things HULK Thread (Red, Green, Skaar, She-Hulk, etc)

Can someone help me out with the titles?

Incredible Hulk turned into Incredible Hercules. Is it going to stay that way? Or change back?

    Red Hulk is just Hulk?

    I'm kinda lost here.

It looks like Red Hulk (HULK) will change title to THE NEW HULK (or something along those lines).. INCREDIBLE HULK will pick back up at 600 starring Banner and Skaar (in theory). Hercules may get a reboot, no one knows for sure yet.
