I regret dropping Alias, but I had started College and had to make some decisions. Which wound up with a lot of books dropped.
And I never went past the first volume of Bone and I enjoyed that book.

One of my little dislikes with the MU, that mutants are played as a heavy analogy to racism when there's more to it.

Books I need to continue in trades:
    100 Bullets
Fables(at least up to the point where the first part of the book ends)
    Scalped
    Lone Wolf and Cub

Really? Seeing as mutants are used to represent all forms of diversity, how is there more to it? Are you referring to their powers or what?

Yeah, their powers. Standard racism isn't disliking a group of people who are born with the power to explode or go invisibile or shape shift or control people with their minds.

It works as an analogy, I'm not saying it shouldn't be there, I just think that sometimes books act as if they are exactly the same which I disagree with.

I don't know what the big deal is with mutants now. I would love to shoot lasers out of my eyes!

Fear and Ignorance, the two main roots of racism, are the main enemies of the mutants. They are also what's led to many of the world's most bloody and horrific abominations. So, in that respect, I believe mutants do still work as an analogy.

Also, while we're at it, it's also been pointed out in the series that MOST mutants don't (or didn't rather) have the ability to do any of the things you've mentioned. Making a racism comparison apt, for example, some Muslim extremists will blow themselves up for their cause, does that mean every single Muslim is capable of that? Some Asians are trained in martial arts, does that mean ALL asians are?

See, while it may not work 100% in realistic contexts, it still fits in all the important ways. Also, I'd compare the anti-mutant hysteria to the Inquisition or the Salem Witch Trials, myself.
