It wouldn't surprise me at this point. INCEPTION, which was thought to be kind of a small, no-pressure movie that would allow Nolan to decompress between Batman movies, has been revealed to have a $200-million budget. Yeah, I don't blame either party if it doesn't happen.

It's not like Nolan is the only one who can make a good Batman movie. Only three people have tried so far out of hundreds of directors.

Also, it's not like they can't make movies with other directors and have Nolan return to the series in the future.

Why? TDK was 3 years after Begins, and this sequel would only be a year more after TDK.

Sounds more like a niche art film....but then again, you never know. Wasn't A Beautiful Mind about that? and it was a huge hit...
