    Post-Punk-Hip-Hop?

I originally posted this in the Indie Rap thread, but thought more folks may want to give this a shot.
New Cage EP available for free and a video directed by Shia LaBauf

    1. Hope this means the biopic is closer to completion
    2. I'm two tracks in on the EP. Wow, Cage really just became "My Chemical Weatherman" didn't he? I'm not complaining, but man this is not what I was expecting. At. All.
It's odd. I'm a HUGE Cage fan. Have been for the better part of a decade, and he sounds totally different on this EP. I'm only partially kidding when I say that his new sound reminds me more of MCR, Fall Out Boy, etc, then anything rap related. But I realize I'm not the most educated when it comes to those genres. What do the rest of you think?

How familiar are you with Cage's Cardboard City partners Daryl Palumbo and F. Sean? Daryl is in the hardcore band Glassjaw and the rock band Head Automatica and Daryl & F. Sean together are something called House of Blow. I hear a whole lot of their influence in this. I think F. Sean produced this whole EP. He's the guy playing guitar in the video for "I Never Knew You." It's interesting. One hell of a departure, but I think I can get behind it after a few more listens.
