Kids, I have an HDTV question...

I'm watching Iron Man on blu-ray right now. I noticed on my TV that in some bright scenes like in the beginning when the hummers are driving down the road, the sky was staticy like the pixels are moving back and forth. Do you guys know what I mean? What setting can I mess with to try and fix that?

    What TV do you have?

Have you checked/ adjusted the connections? Or cleaned your player's lens?

Check your brightness and contrast settings... you may have your TV set too bright.

I turned down the backlight, I think that might have done the trick.

turn down the sharpness of the pic also check the controls on the player...some blu ray players have their own image adjustments.

    It's a PS3, I'll see what I can do.

I've noticed that on one of my friend's HDTVs. It looks all staticy all the time, especially in dark spots. I have a feeling he just doesn't know how to set it up correctly and doesn't care.

I'd tell them to check the preset settings on their TV. Some have sports mode and movie mode, and all of these different settings. Sometimes those can seriously distort an image to the point it just looks bad.

What if they want to watch a movie about sports?
