It looks like the OSX 10.5.7 update is causing problems.

I noticed my iMac's name in the Finder is suddenly "Evan's iMac (2)", and i have no idea where the (2) came from. I'm also experiencing problems in Firefox and Safari, showing crashes in each.

Anyone know of a Mac software (free or $$$) specifically for making Animated GIFs?

Yeah, I know I can use GIMP, and I have but it's time intensive. I was looking for something I can just put in bunch a frames and have it spit out a GIF lickety-split.

And yes, I've tried GIF Fun. It's output is very underwhelming.

And like I said, it doesn't matter if it's free or not.

I got a 16 GB one. And I had the entire first season of The Wire on it, plus 5 full movies plus multiple cartoons plus about 1 GB of music on it.
And I still had 4 GB plus to spare

Really? 10.5.7 has been great for me. No problems, and faster.

What platform are you on? I've got an old iMac and a new MacBook.

I've got a MacBook Pro and when I updated to 10.5.7 it basically told my computer I no longer had an operating system and corrupted my hard drive. The Apple folks had to replace the whole hard drive (again).

Wow. Weird.

I dunno. I've had a Mac of some sort since like 2000, and I've never had a problem other than when I kicked over a Coca-Cola onto my PowerBook.

Probably in September. That's when they've traditionally unveiled new iPods.

I'm hoping my 2+ year old iPod video can last that long and there's something like a 64Gig Touch that's announced.
