I knew they had ruined Chas' character the first time I watched the movie. But watching it a second time... I'm like "Holy Shit, it's Shia Labeouf!"

I guess I hated him before I knew who he really was.

Yeah. He was alright, the script sucked but he was ok.

I like the movie qwuit a bit if they just put some of the deleted scenes with Ellie (Michelle Monaghan) back in it.

pretty much. it's not fine cinema or anything, but it's not like catwoman bad.

Actually I like the Constantine movie on the whole. It told you who Constantine is, what he does and how that world worked. Plus I think Keanu's limited acting abilities was perfect for the character (after Americanising him) since it came across as aloof and reacting to what was going on around him.

I think a sequel would have either made or broken it, but it's an origin story and these are never as good as the first sequel in a franchise (I base this on X2, Spider-man 2, Fantastic Four 2 and so on) since you don't have to go over the abovementioned details again and just jump straight into the story.

It was this movie and Disturbia that made me see Eagle Eye (I found him annoying in Transformers and Indiana Jones) and I actually think LaBeouf is a decent actor. More so in thrillers.

Wasn't he in I Robot too? That's what I thought at first when I saw the thread title, I don't remember him in Constantine. I gotta rewatch it.
