Kotaku linked to a laughably bad story my local ABC affiliate aired about Animal Crossing.

I already sent a comment letting them know what a poor job they did researching this story. I'm sure they'll get plenty more.

They're probably getting reamed with so many emails and comments by the Kotaku crowd that I can't imagine them not doing a retraction in the next couple days.

And part of the problem is the Mid Missouri Internet Crime Task Force is obviously not doing a good job. A little bit of research would have saved them a lot of grief over this.

Thank God that the local news is around to tell us what to be terrified of. That's why I make sure to tune in whenever they ask me in that vague way if my child may be in danger.
