Thread: splash panel as montage...

    splash panel as montage...

can anyone point me to a modern example of a single panel being used to montage a series of actions...?

basically, i'm looking for a SINGLE panel that depicts a series of small actions over time...

obviously, breaking the action up in panels happens all the time... and using a large panel to depict a single epic moment is common...

but i am looking for a montage of actions occurring over time... but depicted in a single panel/image... i know there are a bunch of them but i can't think of a particular one and i need to show someone one of these as an example...

    any help?

Not exactly a panel but in Kevin Smith's run on Daredevil, Joe Quesada did a two page spread of Marvel heroes' radioactive origins including Daredevil, Spidey, and Hulk.

The big foldout page in the final battle of Ultimates 2 has Quicksilver depicted all over the place to represent his speed...

I suspect many Quicksilver appearances use the same technique, but I'm pretty sure that fits what you're looking for.

The Kevin Smith DD issue is one. Another one is the classic issues of The Unknown Soldier by Joe Kubert. Lots of war montage splash pages.

    As montage?

The first issue of Brand New Day does, the splash showing Spidey fighting a bunch of villains while explaining at a job interview what he's been doing.

Maybe the recent Marvel history panels that Chueng did in Bendis' last MA?

Not EXACTLY what you're looking for, perhaps, but sort of. It's basically House of M, Civil War, World War Hulk and Secret Invasion done in single page bursts.
