Then once I got them I was disappointed with the books because they were all about the art and not about the story. McFarlane even admitted it in the Wendigo arc and said that's his style, so deal with it.
I remember how cool those books looked, especially the Return/Revenge of the Sinister Six, but reading them... blah.
You're right though. McFarlane definitely left his mark with Spider-Man's anatomy.
