McFarlane even admitted it in the Wendigo arc and said that's his style, so deal with it.

I remember how cool those books looked, especially the Return/Revenge of the Sinister Six, but reading them... blah.

You're right though. McFarlane definitely left his mark with Spider-Man's anatomy.
Return of the Sinister Six was Dave Michelinie & Erik Larsen and Revenge was Erik Larsen as writer/artist, you know.

I forget where I read it, but Kirkman wanted McFarlane to return to comics. Todd has spent several years developing stories for his toyline; that time and effort could've gone to developing new comics. Kirkman didn't necessarily want him to return on art, just creating stories again.

When he called him out, he was asking McFarlane to draw a book for him. They may have changed the story since, but that was Kirkman's original stunt.

That's right. He wanted McFarlane to draw something that he would write.

This reminds me of the South Park episode last season and the image of Randy Marsh covered in semen...

I'm waiting to hear what the book is about. I also think that this first shot is made to look like Spidey intentionaly.

The Origin of Haunt (What I think):

Pelvis Piller is a mild mannered high school student who needs to get laid. So Pelvis decides to go to a science exhibit because that's where the pussy is, am I right fellas? Anyway, Pelvis watches the exhibit take place for the purpose of examining what happens when a skull filled with jizz is bombarded with radioactivity, oh and the scientist also puts a Spiderman mask on the skull.

The radioactivity pulsing through the skull, it instantly comes alive and after yelling "F YOU!" to the audience, bombards Pelvis with jizz. Pelvis collapses and when he wakes up, he finds he has strange new powers.

"Holy shit bombs!" Pelvis exclaims. "I have super powers, just like that guy who swings around all the time, what's his name, oh yeah The Falcon!"

Pelvis returns home with glee only to find that his second cousin has been stabbed to death by the very ex convict who he let escape after not getting paid for his job at the car wash. He manages to catch the villain and decides to use his powers for good, for as his second cousin used to tell him:

"With a shit load of strength, comes a shit load of mind grapes."
