Final Crisis aka "So Batman's dead but not really dead?"

Ok, I'm confused. Actually that whole Final Crisis thing confused the hell out of me...

Spoilers:

So there's these people that watch over the multiverse...

Barry Allen has been running from this black racer guy for the last twenty years and is back now?

Darkseid shoots a bullet backwards in time, killing Orion...

Some crazy stuff goes on and Darkseid pretty much turns everyone into mindless zombies that are extensions of himself.

Superman shrinks and freezes a bunch of people in ice cube trays to save them from this "anti-life equation".

Batman, tries to kill Darkseid only to be fried by DS's omni-blast or whatever it's called.

One of the people who watches over the multiverse walks among us and sort of helps the good guys win.

Some old guy sitting by a fire dies and seems important to the universe somehow (although I'm not sure why). Someone who casts the shadow of batman and appears to be bruce wayne seems to take up the job of whatever the old guy was doing.

I'm just trying to figure this all out, and all I can say is, "Huh???"

I'm not sure you can really spoil FC. Someone could tell me everything that happened in each book and I still wouldn't realize that was what is happening when I read it.

see this sounds like a train wreck i just gotta read. Hell if i wasn't so broke right now i'd buy it cause it sounds like its a necessary read, even if its a cluster-fuck of an event
