Took me a while to realize that parts were being told in flashback, and the ending would have confused me without Superman Beyond, (which I just bought and read over the weekend because I learned Morrison wrote it). Ben, I'm not a big DC fan, and I didn't get everything (the Kamandi/Command-D stuff, what the Atoms were doing, ect). I only read Batman, Superman Beyond, and Final Crisis, but I think that was enough to get the vast majority of it. It's perfectly acceptable to hate this story, especially if the lack of transitions ("channel zapping comics"), seen particularly in this issue, are not your kind of thing. I thought they contributed to the size and scope of this story. This is the most epic company event I ever read and I don't think anything will top it.
