    Thunderbolts #128 (spoilers)

We've been slammed hard here and I haven't had a chance to look at anything. But I've been looking at the 1:25 ratio variant trying to figure out who that was. I kept starring at the character because it looked so familiar and I finally figured out who it was after hitting the back issues.

Anyways, I just had a customer call me and ask me if I knew what was in T-bolts #128. The answer was no and the customer told me to open the book.

    Spoilers:
Inside you have another appearance of Barack Obama as President interacting with Norman Osborn. Totally unannounced and unexpected.

I had just had a customer in line for Amazing #583 reprint this morning asking me if that would be an ongoing thing or if it would just be a one-time thing. I of course said that it would be a one-time thing and here's a book proving me wrong right on my shelf today. I wonder exactly how committed Marvel is to this as far as future appearances in Marvel Comics as a reoccurring character.
carlgiannini: All I wanted to know is what trades have been released. Now I've committed to spend an extra hundred or two on comics. What happened here?
The Lord Retail: I happened. Lord Retail happened to you. I'm sorry friend, but I simply can't turn it off..

How is Diggle's Eric O'Grady? He is one of my favorite characters and I am perplexed by his thunderbolts placement.

Marvel's always had the real world president in their books. Bush has been in tons of stuff (The Ultimates immediately comes to mind)

He was only on one page this issue, so probably a little too early to tell.

He'll be appearing here and there, wherever the President is needed.

I honestly doubt this Thunderbolts issue will amount to much, especially as he's appointing a supervillain as head of homeland security in it. Not exactly an inspiring moment.

I know that they always refer, but you don't always actually see the depiction of the President's likeness. Just wondering if they're going to go all-in with this or just a couple of times here in the beginning.

Good, he has some good lines, including voting for Colbert.

I just read DC book last week that had Bush in it. Surprised me, because I always thought DC had fake Presidents.

Yes. He came off fairly reasoned and intelligent, but he's still vetting a supervillain to head Homeland Security.

Here he was playing the role of the President, not appearing in a special capacity.

If Obama simply appearing in the business of being the President of the Marvel Universe is going to make an issue a special hit...well, fuck, I'm never having a normal comic day again.
