Extensive WOLVERINE Reshoots Are Happening

I dunno, I hear reshoots and I think it might mean they're really trying to make this a great film, especially after Fox came into some Watchmen money.

The concept of a Wolverine movie being a tentpole film is just odd to me. I'm probably alone in this, but Wolverine has always felt like a secondary or a supporting character. Is he really considered to be an A lister? Maybe I'm just too old school and grew up reading Wolverine in Uncanny and in the Frank Miller mini series and never felt that his own solo book was anything spetacular. I just don't see Wolverine solo as an A list character. So the movie to me seems to be Daredevil/Electra level not Spider-man, Hulk, Batman, Superman level movie.

Here's why I am afraid of it - ANY time a person associated with a film comes out and basically warns the public about the film (Lucas before this last Indiana Jones flick), I worry. And Jackman did just recently say that - if this movie is not well-received - he'll hang up Wolverine's claws. That's very telling - that's saying that the actor isn't as confident in the product as he should be.

It could mean that. It could mean he's so confident in the end product that he believes if this Wolverine movie isn't well-received, no Wolverine movie will be well-received.

That's very true. And, if that happens, the rights will revert back to Marvel. I believe that the deal is if a film isn't in active development for a period of 5 years, FOX loses the rights to the franchise.

Now, as much as fans may want the rights to revert back to Marvel, it seems fairly obvious that FOX doesn't, so they'll do whatever they can to prevent that from happening.

Except that I was fooled into seeing The Last Stand on opening day because Jackman, McKellen and Berry were very convincingly talking it up as by far and away the best of the franchise.

Yep. And, personally, I like Fox's plans for the franchise. Time will tell if they'll actually be successful, but I'm really hoping the Magneto and Deadpool films happen.
