It wasn't even one of the worst books of this week. That book was tons of fun, entertaining moments, and had quite a few good laughs. And the art was gorgeous.

After reading 3 Loeb books in a row he other night, and then being on the net later, I realized something- The same kinds of stories, and the same writing style, that guys like Slott, Kirkman, PAD get praised for online, Loeb gets trashed for.

Because pictures from a deviant art page don't say how long it took that person to complete, for all anyone at DC knows it could have taken that person months, and also because the ability to draw a hero in a heroic pose does not necessarily mean that that artist has any story telling ability.

But a lot of artists have their own short stories on it as well. And I think it would be worthwhile having some kind of 'training' program in place to test these noobs. Still, I don't know how the logistics of such a thing would work and it would probably drive the person in-charge insane inside (alliteration people...learn to love it!) of two months.

Still, a part of me is quite sad that such talent isn't receiving more mainstream exposure.

Also, a lot of those guys are already working comics artists, it just that a lot of them just haven't had their big break yet.
